T\u1eeb n\u0103m 2000, Vi\u1ec7t Nam \u0111\u00e3 \u0111\u01b0\u1ee3c T\u1ed5 ch\u1ee9c Y t\u1ebf th\u1ebf gi\u1edbi (WHO) c\u00f4ng nh\u1eadn thanh to\u00e1n b\u1ec7nh b\u1ea1i li\u1ec7t v\u00e0 ghi nh\u1eadn n\u1ed7 l\u1ef1c c\u1ee7a Vi\u1ec7t Nam trong vi\u1ec7c duy tr\u00ec, b\u1ea3o v\u1ec7 th\u00e0nh qu\u1ea3 n\u00e0y su\u1ed1t h\u01a1n hai th\u1eadp k\u1ef7 qua; tuy nhi\u00ean nguy c\u01a1 x\u00e2m nh\u1eadp tr\u1edf l\u1ea1i v\u1eabn hi\u1ec7n h\u1eefu do poliovirus c\u00f2n l\u01b0u h\u00e0nh t\u1ea1i m\u1ed9t s\u1ed1 qu\u1ed1c gia. Do \u0111\u00f3, vi\u1ec7c tri\u1ec3n khai \u0111\u1ea7y \u0111\u1ee7 v\u00e0 hi\u1ec7u qu\u1ea3 c\u00e1c bi\u1ec7n ph\u00e1p ph\u00f2ng, ch\u1ed1ng b\u1ec7nh b\u1ea1i li\u1ec7t gi\u1eef vai tr\u00f2 quan tr\u1ecdng nh\u1eb1m b\u1ea3o v\u1ec7 c\u1ed9ng \u0111\u1ed3ng tr\u01b0\u1edbc nguy c\u01a1 vi r\u00fat x\u00e2m nh\u1eadp.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 18pt;\">B\u1ea1i li\u1ec7t do poliovirus g\u00e2y ra, th\u01b0\u1eddng l\u00e2y truy\u1ec1n qua \u0111\u01b0\u1eddng ti\u00eau h\u00f3a khi \u0103n u\u1ed1ng ph\u1ea3i th\u1ef1c ph\u1ea9m ho\u1eb7c n\u01b0\u1edbc b\u1ecb nhi\u1ec5m ph\u00e2n c\u1ee7a ng\u01b0\u1eddi b\u1ec7nh, \u0111\u1eb7c bi\u1ec7t t\u1ea1i nh\u1eefng n\u01a1i c\u01a1 s\u1edf v\u1ec7 sinh ch\u01b0a \u0111\u1ea3m b\u1ea3o.
